Locally Collins Cap Cottage is situated on a 660 acre property which takes in much of the ridgeline running North East from the cottage. The walking track extends about 2kms along the ridge and offers spectacular views both up the Derwent Valley and Eastwards into Collinsvale. Other local walks include Myrtle Forest and Collins Cap as well as access to the Mt Wellington range .
